Natural Resource Consultants

Turning Wetland Complexities into Predictable Project Approvals

A private consulting firm with over 30 years of experience helping clients navigate compliance with Clean Water Act requirements for surface waters and wetlands.

Services

Natural Resource Consultants has a wide variety of expertise in the Piedmont region and surrounding areas, serving clients in need of environmental services and permitting. We serve land developers, universities, local governments, builders, and private homeowners.

Delineations

NRC staff delineates the extents of water resources and riparian buffers present within the project area. These water resources include streams, wetlands, ponds, and more. We provide a map depicting the locations and boundaries of all features identified. NRC generates approximations of these features from handheld GPS data, aerial photographs, and available LiDAR for use in preliminary project planning.

Permitting

We ensure project compliance with the Clean Water Act and various riparian buffer rules based on our extensive experience and by consulting with state and federal agencies in a joint application process to permit impacts to jurisdictional and non-jurisdictional waters.

Protected Species Assessments

We examine records and survey project areas for threatened and endangered species that could be in the project area to ensure compliance with the Endangered Species Act.

Cultural Resource Environmental Reviews

NRC requests environmental reviews from the State Historic Preservation Office to identify any potential cultural resources that may be affected by the project.

Mitigation Planning/Monitoring

We can develop and manage Permittee-Responsible Mitigation Plans to restore or enhance riparian buffers and support stream and wetland mitigation sites through providing visual assessment and vegetation plot monitoring.

Environmental Assessments

Our trained professionals identify and inventory natural resources present within the project area and are able to predict the environmental effects of a project on these resources in this all-in-one site investigation.
